Rogerson House sets the standard in dementia care with a special building design. Dr. Paul Raia of the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH, utilized “Prosthetic Design” which can sustain independence, promote positive mood and sociability, and improve safety.
Our unique two floor design allows residents to transition from one floor to the other as their care needs increase over time. This gives Rogerson House the opportunity to adjust programming, supervision, and care services based on the cognitive level of each individual. Most importantly, it allows residents to live amongst neighbors similar to themselves.
Rogerson House has an extensive therapeutic programming with over 43 hours of activities a day! That is almost 300 hours a week – 4.5 times more than most communities! Our parallel programming is facilitated by our trained team of professionals including dedicated Music and Art Therapists who focus solely on their craft, and have one-on-one sessions with our residents. In addition to our therapeutic music and art programs we offer activities ranging from poetry and songwriting, to yoga and movement, to individualized personal fitness training, discussion groups, intergenerational programs, pet therapy and gardening.
Fitness First is an innovative fitness program designed for our residents that uses state-of-the-art Nautilus equipment. The program offers a one-on-one supervised training opportunity for residents to maintain and improve their strength, mobility, balance, and flexibility. Our trained staff collaborate with visiting Physical Therapists to continue the success that our residents have had with their therapists.
Experience matters, our Management Team has well over 100 years combined of experience working with people who have dementia. Four of the members of our Management Team have directly run a Memory Care Neighborhood. This experience allows our staff to utilize their knowledge to be creative problems solvers. We come together to assist in difficult situations ensuring that our residents are safe, secure and happy. It is our goal to make sure that once Rogerson House becomes their home that we will work together to ensure our residents success.
Commitment to International Engagement:
Rogerson House benefits from graduate level interns from Boston area universities studying social work, nursing, physical therapy, art, art therapy, music therapy and expressive therapies. Our interns engage with both our residents and day program participants. They are closely supervised and guided by our Executive Director, Resident Services Direct and Expressive Therapists. In addition, we are very lucky to attract warm-hearted individuals from local, international, school and religious organizations who wish to volunteer to work with our residents both in the community setting or one-on-one.
Adjacent to Jamaica Pond with over three acres of outdoor space and nestled in the beautiful Emerald Necklace, Rogerson House is an oasis in the city and features gardens, walking paths, a gazebo and green house. We offer a serene setting and yet we are just minutes away from world-class medical facilities.
