Mission Statement

The mission of Rogerson House is to provide the highest quality of professional care for cognitively impaired Assisted Living residents and Day Program participants in addition to support for their families.  The physical design, staff training, and programs of Rogerson House focus on maximizing functional and cognitive abilities and promoting a positive emotional environment.

Caring, Knowledgeable Staff

Professional and compassionate staff have extensive training – tailored specifically to meet the needs of residents and day program participants with memory loss. A close affiliation with doctors and nurse practitioners from Boston’s best hospitals allows regular on-site appointments and continuous monitoring of residents’ health status.

Secure Outdoor Setting

Rogerson House is situated on several acres of meticulously manicured property.  The secure, gated outdoor space is complete with flowering gardens, a working greenhouse, and a gazebo.  Residents can enjoy their daily walks on the walking path, or savor the fresh air under our canopy.

Unique Building Design

The building design takes advantage of the most recent research showing how physical surroundings – light, layout, color – can positively effect the lives of people with memory loss. All resident rooms open directly into common areas to encourage socializing and participation in therapeutic programming.

Custom Care Levels

Rogerson House accommodates residents on two floors, a unique design that allows residents to transition from one floor to the other as their care needs increase over time. This provides us the opportunity to adjust programming, supervision, and care services based on the cognitive level of each individual.

Specialized Fitness Program

Rogerson House offers Rogerson Fitness FIRSTSM, a comprehensive strength training program on state-of-the-art Nautilus equipment.  Our Fitness Specialist accompanies participants to the fitness center and provides one-on-one instruction during their scheduled session.  The focus is on overall body strength to support mobility, stability, and balance.

Pioneering Expressive Therapies Program: Rogerson ARCHESSM

Developed by and for Rogerson House, the ARCHESSM program is the only one of its kind. This expressive therapy program (which stands for Art, Recreation, Community, Holistic, Expressive, and Spiritual) helps people suffering with memory loss and dementia cope successfully with the changes they are experiencing. The result? A failure-free, life-enhancing experience.

Student Interns & Volunteers

Rogerson House benefits from graduate level interns from Boston area universities. These interns interact with our residents and day program participants.  They are closely supervised and guided by our licensed social worker, nurses and expressive therapists.  In addition, we attract warm-hearted individuals from local, international, and religious organizations who wish to volunteer.

Comprehensive Support Services

Our social worker hosts a monthly support group for family members to help them through this life altering transition.  This creates a positive experience for both the residents and their families.  Our team philosophy encourages continuous family involvement through support services, educational programs and family gatherings.

Connecting with Technology

Rogerson House is the first specialized dementia assisted living residence to offer a revolutionary computer program employing touch-screen-illustrated-prompts which invites family, friends, and care partners to connect meaningfully with each resident. This is a person-centered program providing therapeutic tools in combination with a web interface. Among other features, residents receive individual assistance in posting photos, sending emails, and responding to communications from friends and each generation of their family.
